Jeff West has over twenty-five years experience in
the non-for-profit arena. He has served as Executive
Director of the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas, Managing
Director of the Dallas Theater Center and was the
Executive Director of The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey
Plaza from 1994-2004.
As a consultant, West focuses on strategic
alignment-assessing the skills and resources that can
be mobilized to move organizations forward. Drawing
on his wide experience, he motivates staffs and boards
to focus on achievable results in the context of realistic
goals and objectives.

Current projects include the coordination of the creative and
physical development of the South Side Quarter District, an
eighty acre site adjacent to the Dallas Convention Center;
(www.southsidequarter.org);
development of a one-year operating plan for the Deep Ellum
Film Festival; and coordination of the Dallas exhibition of
"National Geographic Presents Through the Eyes of the
Gods: An Aerial View of Africa."
Recent projects include development of an organizational strategic
analysis for the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, AB; the development
of a comprehensive marketing action plan for Fair Park-home
of the Cotton Bowl and eight museums in Dallas; strategic
planning for the Old Trinity Trail, a $22 million recreational
trail to anchor a mixed used development in Dallas' Design
District; and execution of a feasibility study for the University
of Texas/Dallas for the creation of an undergraduate/graduate
museum studies program.
Previously he has consulted with a wide range of private and
public organizations including the Trammell & Margaret
Crow Museum of Asian Art; the Origins of the Southwest Museum;
the Dallas Architectural Forum; the National Endowment of
the Humanities and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
He currently serves as the Treasurer for the Texas Association
of Museums and as Secretary of the National Historic Landmark
Stewards Association. He has presented at a wide-range of
conferences including the American Association of Museums,
Americans for the Arts, and the American Association of State
and Local History.
